Performance Theatre Workshop

This fun, challenging and intensive one-week workshop offers instruction on acting, improvisation and character development! Based on improvisational games, students create their own characters.  An original play is written based on the characters and they perform a fully staged production for friends and family on the Friday at 3:15!  Actors will see their ideas take shape as they follow the entire production process from idea, to script, to stage.  No experience necessary for this camp!  Hurry – classes fill up quickly – sign up today! $400 (includes YPT t-shirt) Grades 2-11

Creative Drama Summer Camp

This camp is for children who are learning to love the magic of drama!  Students act out classic and contemporary stories, as well as creating their own unique adventures.  Major emphasis will be placed on improvisation, character development and the fundamentals of story structure.  Class culminates with a performance for family and friends on the last day! $250 (includes YPT t shirt) Grades Pre k - 1

Musical Theatre Intensive

Introduction to Musical Theatre

 A fun and intense one-week workshop for musical theatre lovers!  This camp will focus on singing technique, voice control, choreography and acting. Students will work on a musical which they perform in a fully staged production for friends and family on Friday June 29 at 3:15!  Previous musical theatre training recommended, but not necessary for this camp.  Hurry – classes fill up quickly – sign up today! $440 (includes YPT t-shirt) Grades 6-8

This fun, challenging and intensive one-week workshop puts together a mini-musical!  The class will focus on basic singing technique and voice control, as well as dance styles and the ability to “deliver” a song. Students will work on a mini-musical which they perform in a fully staged production for friends and family on Friday at 3:15!  No previous experience is necessary for this camp!  $425 (includes YPT t-shirt) Grades 1-4

Repertory Mentor Workshop

This camp is specifically for those students who want to join the Repertory Program or be in our main-stage productions.  Students will get to experience what it's like in our repertory theatre company.  In this intensive two week camp actors will learn and perform two different plays, one each week. Every student will be put in a group and led by a current Repertory Member as a mentor, as well as a mentor-in-training. Together, they will work on lines, scenes, projection and staging.  The ensemble will perform each show at 7:00 PM on the Friday evening at the end of each week.  At the conclusion of the session, each student will be given a detailed evaluation and will be eligible to audition for Main Stage productions*.  This unique camp is perfect for beginning YPT non-Repertory actors and current or new students.  It will give each participant the feeling of the deeply supportive community of YPT. Grades 5-11 $900 (includes YPT shirt) July 30 - August 10

MAD Camp!

In collaboration with our neighbors Blue Bear School of Music and San Francisco Children's Art Center we proudly offer MAD Camp!  A day full of music, art and drama!  At the end of the week students will be able to show friends and family a music performance, an art gallery show and a play!!  Grades 1 -5 June 18-22 Monday - Friday 10:00 - 4:30 (extended care available).  Sign up for MAD camp today!!  Tuition $495
